So, this is the first blog I've done in months... This time, I promise to keep this blog up, and work on it as often as I can. It will probably consist of things from my daily life; my struggles, successes and blessings. I hope my blog would encourage you to think, to reflect, to laugh, and to smile.
Well, where should I begin? I think I might just give an overview of the previous months... I've gone through a lot since I moved to Ottawa in September. In this foreign city, I found a home. In a crowd of strangers, I found friends. In church, I found God. In God, I found happiness and love!
Today was an especially happy day. This day was filled with various emotions, and it's as if I really grew today. I think I'm learning. I'm learning about how fortunate I am, I'm learning about how powerful our God is, I'm learning about my purpose on this earth, and I'm learning how important it is to love. Our world is already filled with so much hate; I don't want to participate in this hatred! I want to make a contribution to the love in this world.
John 4:16 says, “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.” You see, our God is love! Since our God is love, we must be loving as well. We should be happy, we should reach out to others who are filled with hate, and we should love them! I know it's hard to love those who have hurt you, but it's so crucial that we love everybody.
In these months in Ottawa, I really learned to love people... I've grown to love so many people in Ottawa. I've learned to love those who ignore me, I've learned to love those who reject me, and I've learned to love those who hate me. But that doesn't mean I have no more struggles with it... The other day, I realized that I still have bitterness in my heart towards specific people who have hurt me. I know I should let go of this bitterness, but it really is tough.
This occurred to me during the day, and the night has been very special as well. For some reason, I really understood the love I have for God. I've never experienced a love so deep and important. I was listening to praise songs a friend had sent me, and I couldn't stop smiling! I was so happy; I was so amazed by His Glory. He set us free. He sent His one and only Son to die on the cross for us. He is a God filled with so much love! How could we not love him back?
This song really touched me tonight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_fo-DWB1nw. "My heart is free, no chains on me!"
To be honest, I started dancing to this song... I was filled with so much joy!
This has been my first post, and there will be many more to come! I hope your days are filled with joy and happiness. :)
