Commitment [5/10/12]

Okay I had to write another one because I felt bad for missing a day..
So hello again! It's me, S! LOL..sigh

So from what we did yesterday.. We wondered.. are we supposed to be doing this everyday? I mean, AREN'T we supposed to be doing this everyday? On our way to school/work, at school/work? Going out to preach instead of filling our time with worldly things because we're bored?

If we truly loved God, we would always be doing this right?
Well then, what is keeping us? Ask yourselves! What's keeping you?!

I know what's keeping me.. I fear ridicule.. especially when I think that God might not use me and give me the words to say.. I'm not comfortable going out talking to random people and praying for them.. And most of all, I don't really have enough compassion and love for people..
So many inhibitions.. Why? I feel like such a failure to God.. But He reminds me that in this relationship, He holds me up.  I have nothing good in me to be righteous.. But Jesus becomes my righteousness when I believe in Him.  I really want to be like a child, so dependent on the Father. I don't want to depend on myself because I'll keep failing.

So I pray for God to give me the love that He has and wants us to share with the ones infront of us! Then I shall be truly confident and happily commit myself to do God's will and live as Jesus lived. Daily.

Luke 9:23-27

New International Version (NIV)
23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26 Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
27 “Truly I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”

  1. So true...to love others the way God intended is so unnatural for us. And we cannot do it by our own will and ability.

    Mark 13
3 Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives across the valley from the Temple. Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him privately and asked him, 4 “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to be fulfilled?”

5 Jesus replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 6 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’[a] They will deceive many. 7 And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. 8 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, as well as famines. But this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

9 “When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.[b] 10 For the Good News must first be preached to all nations.[c] 11 But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

This reminds me of what Greg was talking about on Sunday about the Holy Spirit never leaving us, and how Jesus left us to give us the Holy Spirit...that we would be baptized not by water, but by the Spirit. Since He lives in us...we no longer have to walk this earth alone :) Jesus talks about the end times and when Satan will try to deceive us and we will be persecuted. But He tells us not to worry. The Holy Spirit will give us words to speak, and we will be blessed because we endured.

The Holy Spirit is in you S!

  2. we SHOULD be living a missional life every moment of the day... i pray that we can become great warriors of christ that can be bold in Him and Him only... and to be so in love with him that we cannot help but shout his name!
