Perfect Love [5/14/12]

Hi all! Q here.
I want to tell you all about perfect love!
What is perfect love?
Perfect love is when people experience God's love through us.
I realized from a sermon today that this is how we are to love one another; that God would use us to show His love to people.  That is what our Lord, Jesus, did for us! God's greatest demonstration of love was sacrificing His only Son to die for our sins so that we could live through Him (John 3:16).  Jesus did what He did because He truly loved us.  This is what the gospel is about! Love! Because God is love. We can only love through God because He loves us.  It is through His love showing through us, that we are able to love.  And I mean, what greater love is there than God's love? Nothing! He is love, and whoever abides in Him, God will abide in them, and love will be made perfect among them (1 John 4:16-17).  We are to be imitators of God, living a life of love, just as Christ loved us (Ephesians 5:1-2).  And we know God because we know Christ, and because His Spirit and His Word reveals us such things.  And this is why we preach the gospel: that people will be blessed by God's love when they believe! This is why God used Jesus and uses us (He gives us authority [Matthew 10:1]) to heal every sickness and disease, to raise the dead, to cast out demons: that people will see God's power and love! We can only love through God who loves us.  And this is made possible for those who believe in Jesus (1 John 5:1-5).  And loving people is not hard (Matthew 11:30; 1 John 5:3) because God simply does all the work, as long as we have faith in the power and love of God.
How beautiful and wonderful His love is!  His love is so spectacular and glorious! I praise and worship Him because of His love! Because He is who He is!  He never changes because His love for us never changes! Praise God :)
I really pray for God's love to be made perfect in me, so that His love would draw me out to peoples everywhere and show them an all powerful God who loves them and will redeem them through Jesus if they believe in Him.

Matthew 22:36-40

New International Version (NIV)
36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

1 John 4:19

New International Version (NIV)
19 We love because he first loved us.
